I am a night writer. When the day has come to an end and my body is winding down from such rigorous activity through out the day. My mind does not relax and then the words began to flow, so fast that my fingers cant keep up. Its something about the mind and how it is the last thing to want to go to sleep.I enjoy midnight writing, the house is finally quiet from energetic children and my husband id fast asleep in bed. I can hear my thoughts clearly as if ’ speaking to myself out loud. I write as if ’ speaking to a person/crowd my self exploring some different verb usage. I don’t have as much time as I use to for writing. I guess I’ll make this a goal for summer nights

Since the beginning of man there has always been a question of how and who, created our existence. In the article entitled God vs Science there is an debate concerning evolutionary or creationism. Can you actually argue against religion and science, some scholars actually think they can.Richard Dawkins, who clearly concedes that ‘God’ is an delusion decided to be a spokesperson for our scientific/atheistic readers.Where as Francis  Collins, a recent convert of religion, was an formidable opponent for Religion and God.

Time magazine asked dawkins if he believe there is a God in which he blatantly answered”no”. With the same  question directed at Collins who gave a sincere  approach of the existence of God as one that cannot be contained merely in science. He expounded on the fact that God, Himself, is much bigger than science. Meaning that science has its limits, but with God, there are no limits. Of course the subject of Charles Darwin and evolution was mentioned in the interview in which Dawkins disagreed somewhat with Charles Darwin when it came to the diversity and complexity of living things but neither would he recognized if it was actually the work of God. Francis Collins  suggest that God is ‘outside of space and time’ , and at the moment of creation everything came to existence even that very same conversation, because God knows both past and future.

Both men are obviously passionate about there belief, but there can only be one right one. The very idea of science states to me that there always has to be an explanation on things that occur in this life.Nothing is unexpected but the contradiction in that is, not everything in science can be explained and that is when you will be able to see God. You see its real simple if you want to stick with theories and assumption science is the way to go, but if you want to be mesmerize with the unknown then God is the man you need to see.

I have been a nurse for 9 years and I still have the same friend from my first job. Me and Kim met years ago at our very first job straight out of nursing school. At first glance I could tell she really didn’t care for me,mainly because most of the co-workers she socialize with were my enemies. One fateful night at work Kim and I were the only two nurses working the ventilator wing . She began to talk to me and I talked to her, we found out that our backgrounds were so similar that we could have been sisters. She apologize to me for agreeing with others as to how they felt about me and had no idea I  would become the friend she needed. I warned her that the moment she became my friend my enemies would be her enemies and if she was up to handling the scrutiny. Soon after our newly found friend ship she began to experience what I had been dealing with by myself. Through out all the rumors we stuck together , because its nothing like going through a problem with someone you can trust. Apr 11, 2009 has made 9 years of our friendship and counting…….

There has always been an unspoken idea of whether being ’smart ‘ was purely genetic or simply just a gift. In the first article I agree with some of the findings. If scientist  study race and IQ , it should be fair. Do not just test poor blacks with wealthy white Americans. But categories every body the same. Which would include the same lifestyle, backround and  demographics. If scientist feels that testing is necesary to prove their point, then they need to level the playing field. The problem is they will not. When you began to categorize a group of people according to a standard that is not even their own, of course they will be some discrepencies. scientist need to be very careful when distinguishing a  race of people regarding their mental compacity. The study can be done as a teaching tool as to how schools could make learning  less difficult  in such a diverse setting. On the opposing side it could also be use as a weapon of discrimination on partucular ethnic groups. When articles are publish with the topics of education and ethnicity we know what audience is targeted, and thats the problem of free speech. If a bank ceo reads a study done about asians being more proficient in math by a large percent than other minority groups, when the applications began to come in he has already set in mind of what classification this person must be in to run his accounting department. That is what Iam afraid of. Qualified people being overlooked because of a bias study. Being gifted in the mind is truly a gift  from God. It is even quoted in scripture that King Solomon was the wisest man that everlived. But even before God endowed him with this gift he had to have a desire for it. The same goes when it comes to knowledge in any field of study, one must desire it, regardless of ethnicity, economical status or genetics, the desire must be there first, then the knowledge will come

To kill or not to kill, Pinker tries to get the audience to understand the reasons behind neonaticide and what we can do to better understand the issue before passing judgement. He implores that this is a serious sick condition and we should try our best to focus on prevention instead of condemning. He challenges us to devulge into the mind of these women as to why they feel the need to kill their newborns. He even gives us situation and scenerios an explain them instead of judging, but he made sure to let the readers know that he did not agree with the choices of the women.Pinkerton argues whether this distorted form of judgement from the women is either bioligical or socioeconomical.. But Chapman was extremely critical and often demeaning in his approach to addressing Pinkerton’s article. Now dont get me wrong Chapman was dead on when he address the the situaion of killing neonates. But his approach is unsympathetic toward the condition of these women. Chapman is so focus on the diabolical side of these women killing their babies till he loses focus that it is not just the infants who are suffering but their mothers also.Chapman was also correct concerning our sex-crazed society, and the fact that teens are becoming more sexually involved and are putting themselves at risk for future pregnancies.I was totally disgusted when Chapman compared Pinkerton to a writer who wrote for humans to eat their young. He was being inappropiate ,and it was not funny. Chapman views are what you consider morally correct but it lacks compassion and understanding. Both Pinkerton and Chapman views on neonaticide can persuay readers to pay attention to a culture spiralling downward when not taking accountability for any act. I think that was Chapman main idea, that these women are held accountable, but Pinkerton was trying to understand the problem. So that women who even show signs of these can get treatment and options before its too late. I have no doubt that even pinkerton agrees with Chapman. Its easy to hand Judgement down when a person has commited a wrong act, but to actually show understanding and to try to find a solution to such a difficult situation ,thats when the real work comes in. I wonder if Chapman is up for that……

V.C. ANdrews has been one writer to reckon with. She consumes your thoughts with in the first chapter and have you wondering who did what and why. She explores topics such as incest, infedilty and secrets of the past in all of her novels. Her conflict begans the moment you open the book and it still leaves you wondering what will happen next.Which is why she has created numerous series such as Olivia, a mean spirited step mom who convince her step daughter to put her 4 children in the attic until her fathers death or she would not inherit his money, all the while she fed them donuts powdered in arsenic poison an eventually ended up getting the children sick and one even died, the plot thickens in the next book when the children finally exscaped and found not only that their grandfather had died years earlier. And their mother had remarried and moved away leaving them alone. The third book continues into adult hood as the children grew older and the secret that lies between the older brother and sister of incest… I told you V.C. Andrews is one of the best.

Part 1

Housing affordability has long been an issue in America. For decades we have watched neighborhoods come and go. And with the state of the economy the way it is now low income housing may be a lost cause. Affordable housing should be right, but at what cost, and who should pay. No doubt, our tax dollars will be the main financier, but when will the poor be held accountable to care for themselves. I do not want to sound like some conservative fanatic, but come on please. This is not some third world country with out a means of opportunity. You have people all over the globe who are selling their last to get to the shores of this great nation, the land of opportunity, or so I have heard. Well why is there still extreme poverty on this rich land. Can we say that racially there is a distinct difference when it comes to income and employment, of course? On the other hand, how about educationally speaking, the widening gap between families who parents our educated and the noneducated. You know America is full of division, and it started in our neighborhoods. I truly believe that I have the right to live in what neighborhood I so ever choose, as long as I can afford it. However, is it fair for those who are considered poor to be able to live next door on government funds? I am so torn with this issue, I so do believe that we are to help the poor, clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and house the homeless. Nevertheless, the question is for how long. In addition, are we teaching them to sustain themselves so they can in return help some one to do the same also? Yes, I am all for low income housing, but, it should never be forever. It should bring families one step closer to be able to sustain themselves on their own.

Part 2

In the late 90’s the city of Norfolk had proposed to its residents that they would be demolishing all of the project housing areas in the near future. And that soon the 500 families will soon be relocated to an area of there choice. This project was entitled the Hope VI, in which government funds and private funds will be disbursed through the nation to various low poverty stricken neighborhoods. When I heard this news I just new the participants would be overjoyed that finally there was away out, and the government was paying for it. If it were me I would have gladly participated in this project, and would have accepted the voucher given by the city to hold an apartment for me should I decided to return. Soon after demolition, I began to see the newly erected buildings come to life. The beautiful brick porches, the landscaped grass, and finally a sidewalk. What more could I have ask for. I think people look at me and they see I do not make much money, but that should not mean I have to live in poverty. I just want a decent place to lay my head, without sounds of gunshots in my window. Hope VI program provides job training skills so I can better my living wages and lessons on managing money, something that was never taught to me by my family. I plan to use this opportunity to better my self and my children and hopefully one day I will hold the keys to my own home. I now many people are against this, and rightly so, but if they only knew this was just what my family needed to help us realize that the American dream can be realized. I don’t plan on staying in this situation, but Ill be able to look back and be proud that at least I got the chance.

Part 1

I believe that people were created for a purpose
I believe that society can dictate a person’s behavior
I believe that government should be for the people
I believe that justice was never equal
I believe that knowledge is a choice
I believe that science can be manipulated
I believe that reality is painful
I believe that life starts at conception
I believe that goodness is Divine
I believe that death is the beginning of life
I believe that God is everywhere
I believe that happiness a gift

Part 2

As a young person growing up I was in awe to see how our country could operate so systematically like a river flowing through vast parts of the region. Until this most recent economic melt down. I always thought they government was designed for people, especially for the common person. I was surprise to see so much corruption and dishonesty when it came to the country’s money, war and the ever so rich Wall Street giants. How government could not see this disaster coming and if they did, they chose to turn their head and look away, while millions of people over the last eighteen months saw their jobs disappear at the blink of an eye, and people homes being suck from underneath them. Where they suppose to protect us, did they say anything? While we are going on with our everyday lives and not paying attention, these wall street crooks took advantage of every working American that wanted something out of this god forsaken life. The AMERICAN DREAM, is such a fraudulent statement that the phrase should no longer be apart of our vocabulary. I have never seen so much devastation and travesty behind one phrase. Instead of turning the faces and blaming us for mismanagement of money, government failed to see, that as the watch dogs of the economy, they were to busy either sleep, or playing fetch with China. And as we have seen in the past few months the first people they go to rescue are the culprits who put us in this situation. My belief that government was for the people is slowly diminishing, and I’ve come to realize that if I don’t help my self or my family the government cant and wont. I guess their reason would be we’ve carried you long enough, now who is going to carry us. I guess our big strong government, who claim to help the needy, provide health care for the elderly and children and help so many Americans is asking for help themselves. From Usss….

Part 3

From the beginning Government was appointed by God and was established for the sole purpose of to govern man. Just think if man had no one to tell them what they can and cannot do. We would be a nation at war without ever coming to an agreement, like we see so many other countries. Only the government in America provides food and housing assistance on its funds. In so many other countries they have no accountability to help the poor or needy. S often you see their people hungry homeless and sick. The infant mortality rate is unremarkable, but only in America can you not only birth as many as you want (unlike China), but your even provided free health care, at the governments expense. Government has been the foundation for so many Americans who have had the dream to own a home or even a business. With all kinds of government backed loans that are also secured and some with little or no interest and you may never have to pay it back. What type of government is for the most part always for the people, ready to serve and be a help to those who just need a deserving chance to start/created the wealth they have always desired for their family. Only this government actually does 99% of what it says. With out attempting to lead you to conclude that if you don’t try to make your part as a citizen they will definitely help you. I am thankful for this type a government. Yes I now they have their faults but you tell me what country not only let you elect those officials to represent you, but to actually be governed by the people, I mean , so what more can you ask for. Yeah they’re not perfect: but it could be a lot worst. So count your blessings…..
